Procedure Description:
The procedure is done on an outpatient basis under intravenous anesthesia. The superficial layers of the skin are removed by the pulsed laser. The advantage of the laser is that the depth of treatment is extremely controlled and predictable. This laser procedure also tightens the skin.
Recuperation and Healing:
The patient goes home with specific written instructions. Depending on location, the treated areas are covered with a tape like covering or with ointment. Initial discomfort is controlled with oral pain medication. The treatment postoperatively will prevent formation of a crust or scab. Healing will be complete in 7-10 days. Redness (pink color) will usually last form 1-6 months. Make-up can be worn once healing is complete (7-10 days). Remember everyone heals differently.
