Surgeons Bio

Dr. John D. Ritrosky is native to Southwest Florida, growing up in Fort Myers. He graduated from Fort Myers High School and spent the next 17 years in training before returning back to the area to start his practice. His interest in medicine comes from a long family tradition where his father, mother, uncle, brother and sister are all physicians. He obtained his Bachelor of Science at Florida State University, and then attended medical school at the University of Florida. His surgical training was performed at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota and at Indiana University in Indianapolis, Indiana. His desire to perform cosmetic procedures of excellence motivated him to continue education above and beyond the normal requirements. He concluded his studies with prestigious Aesthetic Fellowships in Miami, Florida and Dallas, Texas.

Dr. Ritrosky is known for his perfectionism and attention to detail. He has established an excellent reputation within the community and with fellow medical professionals in Southwest Florida. Dr. Ritrosky is a member of the American Board of Plastic Surgery (ABPS) which signifies that he has been trained as a Plastic Surgeon and has passed the qualifying exams. He is also a member the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), which means, the physician must be board certified, operate in an accredited medical facility, adhere to a strict code of ethics and fulfill continuing education including patient safety techniques. In addition, he is also a member of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS), founded in 1967, is the leading professional organization of plastic surgeons certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery who specialize in cosmetic plastic surgery. The requirements for membership in the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery  (ASAPS) are designed to encourage application by trained and experienced plastic surgeons who concentrate their practices in performing cosmetic plastic surgery of the face and the entire body. ASAPS membership remains an exclusive privilege for those surgeons who possess the necessary qualifications. Only about one-quarter of all American Board of Plastic Surgery certified surgeons have been accepted into ASAPS membership. Physicians who have been trained in specialties other than plastic surgery are not eligible for membership in ASAPS.

Recently, Dr. Ritrosky moved his practice to 13981 McGregor Boulevard, Fort Myers. The new state of the art facility that he designed provides a glimpse of Dr. Ritrosky’s artistic side. The office features a cascading water feature in the main lobby, and a tranquil spa feel with a rich earth-toned décor. The building was recognized with awards in 2009 for best interior design and best design-build project.
